Before operating, installing, or dismantling a Premier Mast Climber, users must complete a certified training course offered by Premier Scaffold Solutions. Successful completion of one of Premier's training classes will ensure the end user understands and is confident in their ability to install, operate and maneuver Premier products around a jobsite. Each certification remains valid for a period of 3 years from date of completion.
The Premier Products training program is composed of three different levels:
- Level 1: Operator Training
4 to 5 hours
Upon completion of level 1 training, a user will be able to adequately operate the platform while respecting all the safety instructions in the operators manual.
- Level 2: Installer Training
2 days
Upon completion of level 2 training, a user will be able to install and dismantle a work platform and have a solid understanding of how to use the wall tie anchoring system while respecting all the safety instructions in the
operators manual.
- Level 3: Train to Trainer
3 days
Upon completion of level 3 training, a user will be able to adequately teach level 1 and level 2 training classes while respecting all the safety instructions in the operators manual.
Level 1 and Level 2 training can be done on the jobsite or at the customers facility. Level 3 training must be done at Premier Scaffold Solutions facility in Apopka, FL. Each training class is divided into 2 sections:
Level 1: Classroom section - 2 Hours
- Presentation of the operator's manual by the trainer.
- The trainee completes the questionnaire and reviews the answers
with the trainer.
- Successful completion of the questionnaire confirms that the trainee understands the safety items presented during the training class and makes them responsible for the safe and appropriate use of the equipment.
Level 1: Hands on section - 2 to 3 Hours
- Presentation of the platform, the daily inspection procedure and
the daily inspection sheet.
- Presentation of the mechanical components, location of the user’s guide, identification of the tie-off points for harnesses, procedures for removal of guardrails and maneuvering planks.
- Demonstration of the platform lifting/lowering operations and use of the
lifting equipment (hoist).
- Each participant must show their understanding of the safety instructions and perform the lifting and lowering operations in front of the trainer.
- Trainees who successfully complete the questionnaire and hands on portion of the training are given their certificates (competency cards) allowing them to operate the platforms, but do not authorize them to train additional operators.
Level 2: Classroom section - 1 Day
- Presentation of the operator's manual by the trainer, covering levels 1 and 2, and the responsibilities involved for the installer.
- The trainee completes the questionnaire and reviews the answers
with the trainer.
- Successful completion of the questionnaire confirms that the trainee understands the safety items presented during the training class and makes them responsible for the safe and appropriate use and installation of the equipment in regards to the procedure and standards presented in the operators manual.
- Signature of the answer sheet by the trainee and the trainer. Explanation to the trainees that the signature on this document confirms their understanding of the safety items as presented during the training
Level 2: Hands on section - 1 Day
- Unload truck
- Presentation of the platform components and tools required
for the installation.
- Take measurements for the installation and mark out the power unit location.
- Set-up and level of the base.
- Set-up of the power unit, installation of 1 mast section and
leveling/Plumbing of the mast.
- Assemble the bridge and cantilever section, install the guard rail.
- Demonstration of disassembling the bridge and cantilever sections.
- Assemble the towers.
- Demonstrate the dismantling of the tower
- Review maintenance sections from operators manual.
- Trainees who successfully complete the questionnaire and hands on portion of the training are given their certificates (competency cards) allowing them to operate and install the platforms, but do not authorize them to train additional operators.
Participants who are unable to demonstrate their capacity and proper understanding of the safety measures regulating the use and installation of the platforms may be refused their competency card emitted by Premier Scaffold Solutions. Participants must demonstrate their understanding to a minimum of 70% of the safety measures and the trainer must be sure that the participants understood their errors.
All the tools required for the installation of the platform for training levels 1 and 2 must be supplied by the customer if training is to be done on site or at customer facility. This includes lifting equipment needed to install the platforms (fork lift, boom truck, etc…) |
